LONG-TERM CONSULTANCIES AND SECRETARIATS

SERI is currently the Economic Consultant to the Penang State Government and also serves as the Secretariat for the following State Councils:

1) ECONOMIC CONSULTANT TO PENANG STATE GOVERNMENT

• Monitoring of the Economic Performance of Penang

• Maintening databases on economic statistics

• Production of Penang Economic Monthly and Quarterly Penang Statistics

• Organising economic forums and seminars on topics relevant to Penang

• Servicing committees of the Council on Tertiary Education, Pre-School Education, Non-Formal Education and Tamil School Education

• Coordination of Bureau on Learning Difficulties (BOLD), Promoting Activities in Continuing Education (PACE), Arts in Education (Arts-Ed) and Help4U, an online counselling service

• Servicing of K-ICT Council and its four Steering Committees on e-Economy, Knowledge Worker Development, Connectivity and e-Community Development

• Facilitating and monitoring projects and activities of the Council and its Steering Committees

• Service the Forum and its Committees

• Organise activities conducted by the Forum

• Monitor and coordinate projects implemented under the State ExCo Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation
